MAITLAND, FL— Theresa Masar Codinha’s new book, BACK TO THE LIGHT - The Last Lesson of Childhood Cancer, ($14.99, paperback, 9781498464819; $7.99, e-book, 9781498464833) tells the story of the author’s young daughter, Jessica Therese. Witness Jessica’s struggles as she journeys through childhood cancer – beginning at nine years old – as she courageously teaches valuable lessons to those around her. Sadly, cancer cruelly stripped the childhood innocence from Jessica. Throughout her battle with cancer she began to morph into someone much older than her age would otherwise dictate. She had a burning desire to triumph over cancer yet completely embraced the things that she could not change. Through it all, she never lost faith in her God, mysteriously compelling those around her to do the same. Jessica had a near death experience and encountered the presence of a beautiful light. This experience ultimately prepared her for her quickly approaching death. After her passing, the miracles and the angelic visits offered welcome healing to a grieving mother’s heart. In the end, the darkness that threatened Jessica’s life was overshadowed by an irrefutable presence of light!

Now is the time to live your life to the fullest,” states the author. “Never fear the circumstances you’ll find yourself in, rather embrace them as you watch your faith grow. Know that in the midst of your darkest trial, God Himself will illuminate your path causing the darkness that threatens to be overshadowed by His light. Grief is a universal emotion. Often times when you find yourself engulfed in grief, you feel alone. My book will help to identify this emotion with the reader and help to strengthen their resolve to find healing.”

Theresa Masar Codinha lives in sunny San Diego, California with her husband Rich. She is busy in the Real Estate Industry facilitating the real estate needs of those in her surrounding communities. She is the proud mother of three adult sons and often refers to them as her “continual inspiration”. As written in this book, Theresa lost her firstborn daughter, Jessica Therese, to childhood cancer at the young age of twelve. Determined not to let Jessica be forgotten, she founded the “Jessie’s Kids Toy Drive” benefiting the kids at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California. Success, according to Theresa, is made up of thriving relationships, a grateful heart, and at the top of her list, happiness and contentment.
