MAITLAND, FL— Dr. Tomeka D. Russell’s new book, Divine Forgiveness - God's Love as the Answer for Restoring Joy Out of Bitterness, ($15.99, paperback, 9781498439961; $7.99, e-book, 9781498439978) is a lesson in learning to forgive through the divine power of the Holy Spirit. It’s the story of DeAnna whose life couldn’t be further from what she had imagined for herself. Faced with a series of unfortunate events, her ideal career seemed beyond her reach, and she was limited in her physical capabilities with little hope for recovery. Worst of all, she still couldn’t remember the event that triggered her downward spiral. She begins to suffer from recurrent nightmares involving church and a shadowy figure that leads her to become even more confused. Once a young woman filled with the Holy Spirit and very strong connection to God, she now looked around thinking that at any moment she might lose the very thing that held her together; her faith.

I hope readers learn that they can and need to face those who have hurt them the deepest and forgive them in order to heal. Harboring bitterness and in forgives is like poison to the soul,” states the author.

Dr. Tomeka D. Russell received her B.S. degree from Alabama State University in 1998. She attended the Emory University School of Medicine and received her MD in 2002. She completed her residency training at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Dr. Russell is a United States Air Force and Iraq war veteran. She currently owns a family medicine practice that she started five years ago in Alabama. This book is the sophomore title to her 2008 release Sanctified and Still Standing.
