MAITLAND, FL— Denise Engelbrecht’s new book, Parenting Beyond Your Upbringing, ($13.99, paperback, 9781498451949; $6.99, e-book, 9781498451956) shares how she beat the odds, broke patterns of abuse, and established parenting patterns of renewal. She takes readers on a step-by-step path to do the same. She stresses that people do not have to continue unhealthy patterns of parenting just because they were raised in dysfunction. Her book shows that by following key Biblical principles, everyone can rise above the past and embrace a happy, healthy future. The author believes that in order to be a good parent, one must be a good example for his or her kids. She also helps parents establish the boundaries, disciplines, and habits in themselves as well as their children to create another dimension of family stability.

I hope to encourage, inspire, and teach people how to overcome the dysfunctional patterns they learned growing up by sharing my personal journey,” states the author. “I didn't want to raise my family the same way I was raised but I didn't know how to accomplish it at first. I'm hoping my book will give people a roadmap, providing a quicker route to a renewed life and happier, healthier family.”

Denise Engelbrecht has a passion for family and a mission to help others overcome the challenges of their past. Denise attended Roberts Wesleyan College for Communications, where she met her husband, Mark, of 23 years.
