MAITLAND, FL— R. L. Wiggins’s new book, Valor With Honor – Advent Of A Scottish Legend, ($23.49, paperback, 9781498473026; $9.99, e-book, 9781498473033) is the first in a series of novels chronicling the generational significance of the fictitious Reed family of Scotland. Wiggins captures their impact upon a turbulent eighteenth century Europe, Great Britain and the American colonies. Readers of this impressive novel will witness events in history that take place right before their eyes. This compelling narrative includes little known historical facts, battles, romance and underlying aspects that propel Henry Reed to legendary popularity with his fellow Scots and in the eyes of his cousin, King George II. Henry was a man of strong character displaying loyalty, honor and valor, as he became a significant party to the King’s endeavor to preserve the Scotland and England union. When the Union and throne of King George was threatened by an uprising, Colonel Henry Reed was one of those called upon to bring and end to this Civil War. Although the Reed family is made up of fictitious characters, they have been carefully woven into the fabric of the historical events of that period. Wars, personal tragedy and unbelievable hardships follow the Reeds throughout their subsequent generations. Their adversities reinforced the family’s devotion to one another and strengthened them as a family. This is a must-have book for anyone looking for an accurate and exciting historical read.

“Throughout the centuries, the consequences of war, has been devastating to the families of those engaged in the conflict,” states the author. “My series, Valor with Honor spans history from seventeenth century Scotland to twentieth century America. The reader will be taken on an exciting and explicit journey through time gaining knowledge of history that has been lost in our schools. It is a continuous story of a family whose men, through the generations, are military officers. Though the Reeds are fictitious, their characters have been carefully woven into the fabric of the actual historical events described within the novels.”
