Derr Mpagazehe’s new book, The Clock’s Holiday
($19.99,
paperback 9781498487733; $9.99, E-book, 9781498487740) is about a little clock
named Timothy, who learns the lesson of fulfilling his destiny through the love
of his family. Children need to know that they are not only loved, but needed.
When, Timmy thought he was being overlooked, the family helped him to
understand the importance of his role in a family celebration. This book will
encourage parents to involve their children in the preparation for important
gatherings. It will also let children know how important they are to the
family. Adults have always looked forward to celebrating the New Year. This fun
book will help to make that special time of year a family affair.
Mpagazehe writes, “This
mother and son collaboration brings the celebration of New Year to a child's
level. When Joshua was six he was the inspiration for this story. Twenty-four
years later, he became the illustrator. The
Clocks' Holiday will help to bring a new and exciting selection to a
section of juvenile literature that lacks volume on this topic.”
Belinda Derr Mpagazehe has
loved reading since she was a very young child, and she is still a fan of
children's literature. As a former 4th grade teacher, literature was a favorite
teaching activity for her. She not only loves reading; she loves books. The Clocks' Holiday is her second
published book.
