Ben A. Eaton earned a B.S. degree in 1962 at Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio. He earned distinguished Alumnus Award in 2007. He then received his PHD degree in 1966 from The University of Texas, in Austin, Texas. Eaton has spent 40 years in the oil and gas drilling industry and has published many technical papers in various oil industry technical trade magazines. Eaton won the Rossiter Raymond Award for the best paper in 1970. He retired in 1965 from his own company, and now resides in Fort Worth, Texas with his lovely wife Nancy.
