MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of R. Jay
Berry’s new book, Forever Friends: Eight on Ten, ($17.49, paperback, 9781545606643; $8.99, e-book, 9781545606650) readers will follow the
forty-year friendship between eight women working at the Dallas County
Sheriff’s Department—a traditionally male-dominated field.
“In
some instances, a person needs that friend to confide their thoughts, feelings,
and actions they took. A friend’s unconditional love and acceptance is needed
in certain situations that a biological family cannot provide. Friends can be
closer than a real family for various reasons and can last forever,” states the author. “Channel 11
news aired a story about the book on October 3, 2017. The story highlighted the
fact that history was made forty years ago with eight women forming a
friendship and bond at their place of employment in a field dominated by men
all those years ago.”
