Xulon Ranks Among Top Eight Outstanding Self-Publishing Companies
For the third consecutive year in a row, Xulon Press has once again been named an “Outstanding Self-Publishing Company†in Mark Levine’s book, The Fine Print of Self-Publishing. Considered by most to be the “Consumer Reports†of the self-publishing industry, the book explores the contracts, services, and pitfalls of 45 major self-publishing companies.
Of the 45 publishers surveyed, only eight were determined to be “the best in the business.†And the author had praise for all eight of these companies, declaring that they “share a proven commitment to author-friendly policies… They all get it. It’s about understanding writers, who treat their books like they treat their children. Their books are dreams fulfilled and often represent a lifetime of work. These publishers work with you to achieve the results you want.â€
In particular, Xulon Press achieved high marks for its “well-organized†website, nonexclusive contract, competitive pricing, and “fantastic†royalties. After examining in detail criteria such as royalty rates, program prices, notable provisions of the publishing agreement, favorable contract terms, and other services of interest, the author had this to say about Xulon Press: “If you’re targeting a Christian audience, Xulon does provide a solid package and promotional opportunities. Hands down, Xulon is the best exclusively Christian self-publishing company out there.â€
Levine also made note of Xulon’s knowledgeable and courteous service representatives: “The Xulon operators were extremely responsive to questions without attempting to pressure me into placing a book with their service,†he writes in his book.

Kevin,
One of our publishing consultants will be contacting you soon about your book. Since you are calling from Canada, try our local 407-339-4217 number and you will be able to get through to us in the future. The toll-free number only works if you’re located within the country.

I am interested but found out that authors living in Africa,no matter how fine rated, don’t cut it.What a shame.
I am putting final touches to my epochal work “The Lamb’s Epistle” and will be needing a big publisher soon.
Xulon, congrats on your strides and stripes.

Hello,
I am an artist and would like to offer you art for book covers. I would be able to submit slides.
The art could be used and I would expect royalties but no initial purchase.
Please let me know if this is of interest to your publishing house.
If not could you give me the name of other publishers that you know.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Bobbi Wendland

I am in the process of finishing my first book and am exploring publishing posibilities. I am in full agreement with your policy regarding Christian books……but I observe that you only deal with writers from U.S.A. and Canada. I am living in Kingston, Jamaica. Do you have any branches in the Caribben, or are there any other options that you could recommend?
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Blessings,
Donald

Do you proof read the books you publish at all? (Xulon summary of complaint: I am reading 144 scriptural reasons women shouldn’t preach by minister Jesse J Coleman…a Xulon book that has many typos and errors in grammar.)

Authors self-publish their books using Xulon Press services. Editing is the choice of the author. Xulon recommends editing for all books and offers a list of reputable freelance editors authors can hire. Ultimately, editing is the author’s choice. You can review portions of most Xulon books via Google book search.
