Book Summary
Paul's prayers run deep. They reach areas of the inner man where emotional traumas and malformations of the soul exercise hidden control. These prayers root out ways of thinking and responding to life that are contrary to God's Kingdom. They reach the resentments, fears, anger, bitterness, insecurity, and depression that are running rampant, like emissaries from Satan sent to hinder every relationship. We see in four passages the substance of twelve prayers: Ephesians 1:15"19; Ephesians 3:14"19; Philippians 1:9, 10; and Colossians 1:9"11.We will stretch these over a year, taking a month with each prayer. We want to draw as many as possible along with us in this discipline" husbands and wives praying for one another, parents praying for children, students for teachers, pastors for congregations, friends for friends, citizens for our leaders, etc. It's endless. Think of the possibilities.
Author Profile
Ed Corley began writing an unpretentious little pamphlet in 1972 called MASCHIL, a Hebrew word found in the superscription of several Psalms, designating them as teaching Psalms. The word occurs also in Daniel, where it is generally translated "wisdom"or "understanding." The little publication has grown steadily since its inception as a valuable tool in inspiring Christians to understand the Word of God. Ed would be content to being simply known as a servant of the Lord—a humble servant of the Lord. But the truth is that many see him as an apostle. His depth of biblical knowledge comes from much study in the original Greek and Hebrew, coupled with the ever-penetrating Spirit of God. There is no way to count how many lay people, ministers, and ministries that MASCHIL, the ministry of Ed and Glenda Corley and Berean Gospel Fellowship, have impacted.
