    Book Summary

Come and walk down a path to the pastâ€"to a time when Christmas was the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child. Stories of Christmas Inspiration for Families, set in the England of the past, will take the reader back to earlier, more sacred times and melt away the commercialism of the present. Written for adults but appropriate for children as well, these thirteen stories weave humor, poignancy, and even themes of suffering during the Holy Season. Read them to your family during Christmas at night by the fire, and enjoy the true beauty of the birth of our Savior. The stories are historically accurate and are set mostly in the merry old England we know through the writings of Charles Dickens.

    Author Profile

Dr. Nellie Stark grew up in Norwich, Connecticut. She is descended from the people of Tristan da Cunha, the famed "loneliest isle" in the south Atlantic. She studied botany and ecology at Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut, and ecology at Duke University. After completing her studies, she worked as an ecologist in the Amazon, studying the soils and nutrition of tropical rainforest trees, and then moved to the Pacific Northwest. With a longtime interest in animal behavior, Nellie developed her concept of human survival ecology from her studies of the animal world. She also taught forest ecology and soils at the University of Montana. She is now retired and lives in Wren, Oregon, where she has a small farm and raises hay, native plants, and cattle. She believes strongly in the sanctity of Christmas and the need to return to basic Christian values.
