Book Summary
God's Servant of Courage: It's Only a Test! deals with faith, courage, and trusting God during times of trial as a Christian. An inspirational book that features the life of Rev. Brian Henderson, it examines the tests and trials the author faces during changing times on Chicago's West Side, where the odds of African-American children succeeding are stacked against them. Throughout his growing-up years Henderson's faith is stretched as he learns to trust the Lord in dealing with racism, dating problems, unemployment, peer pressure, and much more. The book also examines the author's faith through the call to the ministry, achieving a master's degree, experiencing the events of 9/11, and surviving divorce. Readers will learn that whatever God takes you to, He will see you through. As Hebrews 11:1 reminds us, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." God has destined us to great things, and remember: It's only a test!
