Book Summary
During the creation week, God created all things to perfection, including the human body. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, yet in our modern Western world we see so much disease and sickness, even amongst Christians. God Wants You Healthy! is a call to consider a vegetarian diet according to Genesis 1:29 for general good health, healing from diseases, and adding years to our lives. Those who have osteoporosis, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other lifestyle diseases can be helped by this book. Relevant and practical health issues are also discussed, such as spiraling health costs, DNA manipulation of food, obesity, failure of diets, over-dependence on pharmaceuticals, deceptive foods, importance of pure water, factory farms and animal cruelty, resource usage, and many, many others. There are practical hints on "going vegetarian" noting that great Christian leaders such as John Wesley and William Booth were vegetarians.
Author Profile
Dennis Urbans lives in Melbourne, Australia. In the year 2000, at age 41, he had a health scare with runaway diabetes along with many of the complications that come with the disease. From this experience, God set him on a path of recovery and personal search based upon what the Bible says about diet and lifestyle. As a result of removing animal products from his diet, Dennis was able to shed nearly 40kg in weight and reverse the diabetic condition such that he no longer requires insulin or medications. His wife was also freed from long-term headache problems and his daughter was freed of chronic earaches and bronchitis. Dennis has written this book in response to these experiences and much study of the Bible and secular sources. He continues to live in Melbourne with his wife and three children, who are all vegetarians.
