Book Summary
"Do nothing . . . and be dead in a few days." So began the surgeon's outline of our treatment options. This book is a wife's personal journal. It tells the intimate story of her husband's struggle against cancer, and their striving to live their Christian faith through the ordeal. That husband was the late Rev. Dr. Maj. Steven Mark Eggers and that wife was Sandie. Her husband lost his two-and-a-half-year battle with Stage IV colon cancer and mercifully went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 2, 2005. Dying Body, Growing Faith was originally a series of e-mails to friends and associates, known as "SteveUpdates." Although one purpose in creating these updates was to keep people abreast of Steve's condition, Sandie wanted them to be so much more than "It's about us." She also wanted to share with these 80-plus people what God was doing in their lives, what He was teaching them about living, about faith, about their walk in Christ, through Steve's illness.
