Author Profile
Jack Ray Griffin was born December 24, 1914, near Grove Hill, AL. He transitioned from Alabama to the Mississippi Delta, through the Great Depression and Prohibition era in Chicago, to Florida. After marriage, Jack enlisted in the 9th US Army Air Force in WW 2 becoming a respected veteran after a tour of duty in England and France. Christian conversion was followed by theological study, inter-denominational fellowship, street and tent evangelism to mainstream audiences in the South, Native Americans in Florida, the Carolinas, and in 1958, a mission trip to Cuba. The unanticipated consequence of following the footsteps of Jesus Christ was committal to the Florida State Hospital. Jack Griffin became a survivor along with Phillip Cooper, Kenneth Donaldson, and Chris Calhoun. Mr. Cooper disappeared, Mr. Donaldson wrote his book, Mr. Calhoun’s story became a movie and Jack served as a pioneer evangelist in foreign missions for almost a half-century. www.mynewlife.info
