Book Summary
The Kingdom of God is at hand. It is not just a future hope, but an achievable reality through the work of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus tells us how that is possible in the greatest sermon ever preached - The Sermon on the Mount. In that sermon we learn Kingdom living is not so much a lifestyle, but a journey of the heart. Journey on the Kingdom Road describes that journey for which righteousness, peace, joy and power lurk on every step. But beware; the Kingdom of God is a world turned upside down and inside out.
Author Profile
As a second career pastor, Bud Surles has lived the journey he writes about. He has combined his life experiences; growing up on a dusty West Texas farm, working as a Rocky Mountain guide and outfitter, serving as an executive in both state and national parks, and answering the call to pulpit ministry -- all to weave the truths of the Sermon on the Mount together. He has taught these principles to hundreds of pastors internationally and to his own congregation. He received a Bachelors of Science at Texas A&M University, a Masters of Divinity at Texas Christian University, and a Doctor of Ministry at Denver Seminary. He is a featured speaker on statewide and regional Christian radio and a contributor to the Billings Gazette and other newspapers. Bud has spoken before the Congress, governors, Secretaries of Interior, and State Legislators and has trained leaders throughout the nation.
