Author Profile
Born in Georgia, James Kilgore has lived in California, Florida, Minnesota, and South Carolina. He earned doctorates in pastoral counseling and psychology and post-doctoral certification in marriage and family therapy. He founded Northside Counseling Center in Atlanta in 1969 and moved his office to Canton in 1984. Since 1975 he has traveled extensively as the President of the International Family Foundation, Inc. Ordained at 18 he served congregations in four states. In 1980 he founded the Lake Arrowhead Chapel and ministered more than twenty-three years before retiring. Dr. & Mrs. Kilgore have been married for fifty years and have two children and four grandchildren. He contributes regularly to magazine and newspaper columns and has written ten other books. A Fellow and Life Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, he continues to consult with and speak to churches, clubs, and university groups while maintaining a limited practice of marriage and family therapy.
