Frankie is a girl with a grudge and rightly so.
For after barely surviving an abortion attempt while still in the womb herself, she was to be deceived by the culture of death that promiscuity could be safe.
Now, pregnant at fifteen and out of school, dumped by the father of her baby and ostracized by the society and under intense pressure from the home front to abort the baby in order to correct contraceptive failures, she’d felt betrayed, betrayed by the same institutions that had encouraged safe sex and accepted promiscuity.
Now abandoned and forsaken but still at her wits’ end, she realized that the law and a vibrant culture of life was the only way to keep her baby.
But what chances has a penniless, fifteen year old against old, established warhorse like the almighty condom company and its surrogates? Is it merely another legal tussle or is the fact that condoms being inadequate different from data being inadequate? Only time can tell.
When asked, “What do you do?” Stephen M. Mgbuje usually replies that he is a believer, and then explains that what he likes to do is think a lot about what God says about him in the Bible, believe the eternal truth and then expresses his thinking by acting, writing or speaking, whichever seems appropriate. Stiv has been a working hustler, farmer, and teacher but now he’s into publishing.
Stiv is also a member of Project for Human Development (PHD); a non-governmental trust based in Lagos, with promoting pristine values and safeguarding public morality their main focus.
When not reading and writing, he likes listening to music, cooking or watching documentary. He now lives in Lagos, though he spends most of his time in the near nature paradise of his country home, in Ozu-Abam, Arochukwu local Government Council of Abia State where he does most of his writings. He is the author of Wasted Youth, a timeless classic that has blessed many lives and Second Time Around (about to be published). He was also the publisher of “Goodness & Mercy”, a monthly, non-denominational Christian magazine. His next book, Zero to Hero (a self improvement book) is eagerly being awaited.
