have now learned the pitfall of a no-nonsense book editor who walks into a
trap. While scrutinizing Vreni’s
manuscript for wayward commas and delinquent grammar, he finds himself
unwittingly drawn deeply into its message. As I pored over Songs
in the Night, I got caught up in the joy, the edification, the inducement
of conviction, the challenge to the will, and the theological eye opening. If this happened to me in the objective
approach my job demanded, how much more vulnerable will you be if you dare dive
into the pages? I actually urge
you to take the plunge you will not regret! The writing, laced with humor and word play, is consistently
sharp with the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. It is sure to strengthen your faith or unmask its weak

Vreni
left her native Switzerland in 1956 at age 21 for a one-year stay in America. Having fallen in love with the country
- and a fellow Swiss she met in Hollywood - she has extended it to 58 years so
far. Over time, she lost the firm
grip on her German mother tongue; her last article in a Swiss newspaper
appeared in 1974. To the chagrin
of some, she is still a bilingual punster. One look at the Topical
Index inside this book tells the reader that the author has been reveling in the riches of the English
