Dr. James (Jim) and Glenda Buckley met in college and
married in 1968; they have five married children and fifteen grandchildren.
They have ministered in five different churches in three states. Jim served for
twenty-eight years as Lead Pastor and has served the past four years as
Teaching Pastor at the Newbury Park First Christian Church in Newbury Park,
CA
Jim’s graduate education includes an M.T.S. from Gordon-Conwell Theological
Seminary, and a D.Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He serves as
adjunct professor at TCM International Institute in Austria, teaching Marriage
and Family as well as Transforming Leadership. Glenda has ministered by Jim’s side using her gifts in music, teaching, and
leadership throughout their marriage. When Jim heard God’s call to walk across
America, Glenda said, “Can I go?” Together they touched hearts and homes across
America in 2013.
In WALKING ACROSS AMERICA: One Step At A Time, they tell the
life-changing story of walking across America with Jim walking 3,131 miles from
Newbury Park, CA, to New York City Times Square while Glenda drove a 22-foot RV
so she could be “by his side” the entire way.
