Take a journey back through time and read about some of the pioneers and nationally known characters of Southern Gospel music ----- the groups and individuals who paved the way for many others to follow.
Robert E. Cripe was born in Macon, GA, in the heart of Southern Gospel Music, in 1946, at a time when the “All Night Sings” were very popular and gospel artists achieved celebrity status, and many were household names.
He sang bass with a local group called the Gospel Boys Quartet at the age of 15. After graduating from Lee College with a degree in Sociology in 1971, he has continued his love of Southern Gospel, singing with several groups, as well as working with children’s and adult choirs. Robert is currently (2016) a member of The Songsmen of middle Georgia.
