Book Summary
Do you know of a child or family affected by a disability?
An estimated 4 million children and adolescents under the age
of 18 in the United States have a disability.
An estimated 10-20% of any given community's population
will include individuals with special needs.
The "special needs" population is growing at 3 times the rate of
the normal population.
Do you know these individuals?
Do you know the difficulties and hurts they face on a daily basis?
If you or a family member is one of these statistics, do you know
someone similar who experiences emotional journeys like you do?
Connections of Hope offers these unique connections in a format of
devotion, education, and encouragement. Based on real life stories,
God is exposed through His word as the ultimate healer, comforter,
encourager, and inspiration for individuals experiencing daily
struggles and blessings.
Author Profile
A native of Virginia, Jean McGehee Davison traveled to Georgia to earn a
bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from the Medical College of
Georgia. In 1981, she began her career working with children having special
needs. Twenty-five years later, Jean continues to provide therapy services for
children and their families.
In 2004, Jean initiated the development of a parent support group for her
rural hometown area. This group has become a stronghold for many families
as they have searched for connections to ease the loneliness felt with raising
their children.
Jean continued to feel Gods calling to expand her ministry for families
dealing with special needs. Twenty five years of networking, teaching, praying,
crying, listening, comforting, and battling with and for children found Jean
searching deeper into the needs of hope and connection facing each family.
Connections of Hope is the result.
