THE MESSAGE of this story is that for many people it just "isn't safe to die." That we better be planning for eternity with whatever time we have on this earth. Hell is real and no matter how much we are in denial we will face that someday. That's a fact. I was flat-lined, clinically dead. Going into this surgery I had no belief in God and hadn't in over 15 years. I was bitter and angry at the thought of God because if He did exist He had taken my seven-year old son in a tragic accident. During the time in the operating room I was given the gift of knowing God, feeling His presence and peace then "all hell broke loose," as I plummeted into the horrific pit of darkness and burning pain with no hope of ever hitting the bottom.
