The most important thing in this life is to know that we are, ‘in the faith’, and in Christ. In church we hear many things pertaining to the time when Jesus will come and restore all things to the way that they should be. It is a wise thing to examine our own lives to be sure that we are truly living in the faith of Jesus Christ, the way we should be.
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Prove yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified.
2 Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
In Philippians 3:8-9 we read that the righteousness of God is what we are after.
But indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God through faith.
Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
The righteousness of God is revealed in scripture. Let us be sure that we do not hide ourselves from the righteousness of God.
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
