The First Book of the
Presidents
... is a concise history of the United States from the beginning of Washington’s presidency and Constitutional Government, to the end of Hayes’ presidency and the Era of Reconstruction.
It is written in two versions -- authorized and modern. The authorized is written somewhat in the style of ‘The First Book of the Kings’ of ‘The King James Bible’, with numbered verses and quaint language. The modern version, written in plain English is a paraphrase of the authorized.
