Book Summary
Beyond the Valley of Tears upholds a message of resilience, praise and hope in the face of adversity. It recounts the unwavering faith of a mother who against all odds praised her way through rejection, abandonment, and a harsh cultural tradition and social injustice that denigrates individuals with disabilities.
Ntube, a mother of a quadriplegic child, finds out she is pregnant and at risk of giving birth to a second child with extreme disabilities. Against the counsel of her ob-gyn to abort the child, she made the daunting decision to have the baby.
Abandoned with no money, except for her big faith in a supernatural God, this single mother has pressed passed the pain of labeling, shame and humiliation and is now set to bring hope to the special needs population through the Praise Bell Foundation. A non-profit Christian organization that would provide specialized education, training, respite care and advocate better policies and services that affect the lives of individuals with disabilities in Cameroon.
