Gaydene McClain, is an Investment and Business Consultant and CEO of International Business Professionals, located in Nassau, Bahamas. The company provides management and consulting advice to investors seeking to establish businesses and projects in The Bahamas; and guides them through the governmental process from implementation to turn-key. WHY INVEST? was written to compile into one document all the practices, policies and procedures to investing in The Bahamas. 
Mrs. McClain, having served The Bahamas Government for over 24 years in various sectors, began her career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she gained extensive experience and training in protocol, economics, women’s affairs, consular and visa relations and investments, etc. She represented The Bahamas Government at The United Nations by serving as a Foreign Service Diplomat for the Annual Session of the General Assembly. Subsequently, she worked in The Ministry of Financial Services and Investments, which evolved into The Bahamas Investment Authority (BIA) within the Office of The Prime Minister. Her duties during this stint included assisting with the development and implementation of policies on investing in The Bahamas, initiating and facilitating programmes in orientation, conferences and workshops on investments and small business development in conjunction with selected governmental agencies and international organizations. 
Her education and professional development activities include a BA degree (with honors) in English with a minor in Communications from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and a MBA degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Other qualifications include, a Diploma in Project Appraisal and Risk Management from Duke University, and a CDB sponsored Certification on Project Management from the University of Bradford in England. She also received specialized training in Diplomatic Relations at the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Turin, Italy; and (UNESCO) in Geneva, Switzerland, a Diploma in Human Resource Management from Florida Atlantic University and most recently she completed the first module of the Principles of Management Consultancy course towards her certification in it by the Caribbean Institute of Certified Management Consultants, Bridgetown, Barbados, West Indies.
A dynamic public speaker, Gaydene provided consultancy for such agencies as the Inter-American Development Bank, in partnership with the World Bank,(WB) the Caribbean Development Bank, (CDB) the United Kingdom Agency for International Development (UKAID) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) as a Facilitator for the Investment Climate Working Group from April to June 2013 to compile a Report on the challenging issues facing investors seeking to conduct business in The Bahamas. This project allowed some 100 public and private stakeholders the opportunity to engage in dialog aimed at inducing economic growth in the Caribbean. She was also featured on www.thebahamasweekly.com and www.bahamaislandsinfo.com for the training courses her company has provided and has been on television interviews with The Sawyer Report with Jerome Sawyer, March 2012 and Roundtable Discussion with Tanya McCartney, October 2012 regarding foreign direct investment and the economy. 
This Consultant has been married for twenty-one (21) years to Mr. Herman McClain, II and they have been blessed with three children, Alexandrya, Ashley, and Jonathan McClain.
