Dr.
Sommer grew up with severe/profound hearing loss in both ears. As a boy he
would often ask God why he could not hear like other people. He learned that if
we can hear man, but not God, we are deaf. If we can see, but do not see God,
we are blind. If we can walk, but are not walking with God, we are crippled.
You may never have asked God “why can’t I hear?”
But who among us has never asked God “why?” Why did they have to die? Why is
there so much sickness and suffering? Why did this relationship have to end?
Why do I feel this grief? Why is there war? Why am I going through this? Why
God Why?
