Reader's Choice Awards Lineup Includes Xulon Title

The staff at Author Island was so impressed with Susan Kaye Behm's story about understanding abuse victims that they dubbed The Journey a finalist in the 2006 Reader's Choice Awards for women's fiction. The finalists, from which winners will be selected in July, include an impressive lineup that runs the genre gamut from horror to suspense and science fiction. Says Behm of her book, "If you have not been abused, you owe it to take yourself out of your sheltered life and experience the terror that over 1.5 million children in the United States go through each year. [My book] will help you to understand abuse victims and give you a new resolve to help those who have suffered abuse."

Stellar Reviews, PR Write-up, and Awards for Xulon Author

Whatever Xulon author Robert Hammond has been doing to promote his book, it's working. The tenacious author of Grace Period: The Awakening of Abel Adams used his pen to detail a story of one man's deliverance from a labyrinth of crime, cults, and incarceration, and to witness the triumph of truth over falsehood and rejoice in the discovery of love through the power of faith. One thing Hammond certainly is enjoying right now, aside from the power of faith, is the fruits of his labor. A slew of interviews, book signings, and critical praise were eclipsed only by a recent nod from the Indie Excellence Book Awards 2007, which placed his book as a finalist in both their "religious fiction" and "African-American fiction" categories.
Now that Hammond's demand as a writer is red-hot, several stations have been eager to book him on their show. "The Big Finale" program, hosted by Bruce Collins, sat down recently with Hammond for a chat about Abel Adams, and Collins has promised a review of his novel to AmericanChronicle.com, WorldSentinel.com, and raidersnewsnetwork.com. The interview is located at www.radiohaven.net.
Additionally, Hammond's book landed him a stellar press release and critical acclaim from Debra Gaynor of ReaderViews. The website's Tyler R. Tichelaar also sat down for an interview with Hammond to discuss Abel Adams, the Bible's influence in Western literature, reader responses, and upcoming projects. Throughout the course of the chat, Hammond revealed his plans for a Grace Period screenplay and another screenplay he is working on titled Black's Law. The full interview can be accessed at http://www.readerviews.com/InterviewHammond.html.
A currently featured book on ReaderViews.com, the book has received excellent reviews and article coverage as well as the release of a multimedia PreView (see www.readerviews.com for more information).

Title Takes Home the Gold a Second Time

According to New Book Reviews, Judy Azar LeBlanc's Many Faces to Many Places "shines like a diamond in a coal mine." Perhaps that's what makes it so attractive to award-givers, as LeBlanc has just taken home the gold for a second time. The book recently received honors as Best Inspirational Book of 2006 by NewBookReviews.org. It was selected from a large pool by editors and the reader base out of a number of criteria: writing style and professionalism, marketability, subject interest, reader's preference, and editor's preference. The book tells the story of a courageous spirit who, on a search for freedom, travels through the world of timeless knowledge. Ray Ward, editor at New Book Reviews, describes the story thus: "Very rarely a book comes along that impresses me with its wit, charm, and clarity in dealing with all the emotions, traits, and frailties of the complex animal known as human beings. LeBlancÉoffers insight and timeless wisdom into the art of living life to its fullest. Many Faces to Many Places is an outstanding, thoroughly enjoyable, and powerful book."
