Their book will soon be featured on Atlantic Broadband channel 9, an information channel that informs everyone in the area what is going on in their communities. The deal, which provides that the spot will air on cable 100-200 times daily for seven days every month, will prove lucrative in conjunction with the recent newspaper article/book review featured in The Altoona Mirror. The authors have just sent in a request for submission to Family Christian Stores, so be on the lookout for their book, Planting the Seed, to hit the shelves sometime soon. Book events with Family Christian Stores, as well as Barnes & Noble, are also in the works.

Book About Hope Earns a Solid Three Stars

One God One Message
Foreword Magazine's Todd Mercer recently sank his teeth into a copy of Robert Hammond's award-winning Grace Period: The Awakening of Abel Adams. The book earned praise from Mercer for being a "hope-gathering book designed to please fellow Christians with the outcome." Indeed, the reviewer's one complaint was understated: "A simple help-me-God prayer ushers in a redemptive Christianity that works like a charm [for Abel]. The reason for this substantive difference isn't provided, making the success seem random. Implied assumptions regarding the power of the Christian religion aren't up to the explanatory standard established by previous events; the ending is partially unearned." Hammond, nonplussed, remarked that "it's not the best [review] I've received, but three stars isn't bad." The full review can be retrieved at http://www.forewordmagazine.com/clarion/search_reviews.aspx?Searchtype=Title&SearchCriteria=grace+period.

A video of her interview has been uploaded to the website at www.geraldoatlarge.com.

Meanwhile, KFI AM-640, the most listened to talk station in Los Angeles, asked Duffy to stop by the studio to chat about her book on “The John and Ken Show.” Duffy’s book has steadily found its voice and helped raise awareness about the issue of self-injury.

Fresh on the heels of a successful taped interview on Fox News Channel’s Dayside, Duffy found success with an Associated Press article written about No More Pain! Released in newspapers nationwide, the article has sparked a buzz of interest that Duffy calls “overwhelming and amazing.” To date, she has had 10 radio interviews, and she has several TV appearances scheduled as well. Word Spreads About Book 14 Years in the Making

Agape-Love How Important Is It Anyhow? (a doctrinal analysis)
Rick Gowdy has climbed the ladder of success all the way to the top with his Agape Love, How Important Is It Anyhow? A book 14 years in the making, it stemmed from the fact that the author could not realize why biblical godly love was not being taught thoroughly as a doctrine. He was included in an article of the Canon City Daily Record and made an appearance at Words of Life Christian Book Store in his hometown of Canon City. Despite his powerhouse success, nothing could prepare him for the recent death of his wife of 20 years. "She taught me far more about how to love than all I have ever studied," says Gowdy. "To say she was my example would be an understatement."

In Demand Author Continues Self-Publicity Through Deluge of Media Outlets

Imprisoned for Preparation
After participating in an expo sponsored by Praise 104.7 FM radio station in Richmond, Virginia-in which she sold more than 20 books-LaWanda Woods, author of Imprisoned for Preparation, found herself in demand. That exposure led to a newspaper article in Fredericksburg's Free Lance-Star newspaper; three book signings with B. Buzz Builds Over University of Mississippi Student's Book

Poetic Thoughts Coming to Fruition
Joshua B. Young holds the distinction of being the first African-American student at University of Mississippi to publish a book. The author of Poetic Thoughts Coming to Fruition says, "After the first article on my book, I contacted the University PR to ask if I was indeed the first African-American student to publish a book on campus. After about two weeks of no response, one of the PR agents contacted me by email and told me the great news." After responding to them, Young was again contacted and asked to participate in a photo shoot for the accompanying article on his book. "I felt like a movie star," Young says. "They took almost 40 shots! The best news of all is they told me this article would be featured in newspapers statewide and in Memphis. This was the best news I've heard all semester."

After the article publicizing Young's book cropped up in his school newspaper, he made a deal with the campus bookstore to carry his book. As soon as he did, the news began to spread. Not long afterward, he spoke with the editor in chief of the Daily Mississippian, who sent a columnist to interview him. The result was a front-page article in the newspaper.

Book Scales Mountain of Critics to Receive Heapings of Praise

Spiritual Summits
The second book of the Spiritual Summits series, Edward Aponte's The Elementary Summit develops in its audience a Christian worldview and helps them reach new heights. But cynicism isn't the only obstacle it has scaled, as the book recently won praise from Paul McShane of Good News Etc. The laudatory review begins by admitting McShane's skepticism, "but after a few chapters and the exercises that follow[ed] at the end of each one, he had won me over completely_Aponte has used Scripture after Scripture like a climber uses pitons to support his ascent. The scholarship in it makes it very profound as well and can no doubt be traced to the author's theological studies at Cedarville University, Moody Bible Institute, and Bethel College."
City on a Hill Takes Flight with Publicity

City on a Hill Prayer Journal
Once upon a time, Xulon author Diana Crews wrote a little book called City on a Hill Prayer Journal, designed for families and individuals who want to reclaim and record their godly heritage. That little book has since spread its wings and taken flight with a series of interviews and book signings in Crews' native Alabama. The busy author took time out from her schedule to pop into Dove's Christian Supply and also chat up Ann Varnum of WTVY Dothan. Additionally, the author found herself spotlighted in the Sunday edition of the Dothan Eagle Newspaper. Not bad for a book with humble beginnings-as the brainchild of 25 years of observation in the Department of Human Resources and a solution to the overly rampant "ills of society."

The program, sponsored by YES! (Youths Entering in the Spirit), lasts for nine weeks and includes such topics as self-esteem, living for Christ, relationships, influences, love, sexuality, and bondage breaking. Arceneaux's book was written as a tool toward gaining the knowledge and understanding of God's Word and stemmed from her frustration at the fact that most people wait until they are older to discover who they are and who they are in God.
