Beyond the Sunday Sermon-Basic Steps for Christian Growth
Discover the secret to unlimited spiritual power

LONGWOOD, FL-Becoming a Christian is a spiritual birth into a new life in God, but how do new Christians overcome timidity and lifelong sin patterns to become the men and women God created them to be? Where's the Power? Lord, We Have a Problem (paperback, 978-1-60266-387-9) is a guide for Christian growth taking you from the moment of your new birth in the faith to unlimited spiritual power. You'll learn what it means to live, walk, and worship in the Spirit. Author Charles D. Long approaches the Bible in a logical sequence, revealing the basic steps for spiritual growth and tackling tough issues with biblical explanations. According to Long, "This book will take you spiritually where Sunday sermons and Sunday school lessons in most denominations will not and cannot take you."

Long has taken the God-given Scriptures by faith and proved those biblical truths in his own life experiences. His personal teacher and guide has been the Holy Spirit. Long's book reveals how you can pray in the Spirit, hear God speak, receive true spiritual power, understand your spiritual gifts, and wield the mighty weapons of Jesus' blood and name. Long wholeheartedly believes that "what the Holy Spirit has done for me He will do for you...and more, as you ask and believe."

Charles D. Long grew up in Hagerstown, Maryland. After high school, he joined the 82nd Airborne Division. He married his wife Penny in 1948 and they had three children: Pamela, Barry, and John. Long served in Special Forces with duty stations in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. Retiring from the Army, he purchased a 440-acre stock farm in West Virginia. He and his wife had a life-changing experience with God, and Long is now the pastor of five United Methodist Churches.
