She was deployed three times during her military career: Operation Desert ShieldÑDesert Storm, Operation Uphold Democracy (Haiti), and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Thompson was awarded the Bronze Star during Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is married with two children and lives in the state of Washington.
