LONGWOOD, FL-When Jonnie Landis visited a friend's cabin for three days of relaxation and skiing 20 years ago, the trip was more than your average getaway. "Through this book I came out of rejection, bitterness, and thoughts of suicide and began to see how God thinks about me," says Landis. "It brought me into a completely new life. My book directs the reader to relationship [and gives them] a knowledge that God is personally interested in each one of them. Until we come to the understanding that it is possible to hear from the Lord, we stand apart from Him, not expecting much of a relationship with Him."
After her inward journey, Landis directed her outward efforts toward helping others understand God's love and ceaseless desire for us to grow in fellowship with Him. Her unshakeable faith is what brought her into a completely new life.
"Today I continue to see the Lord wanting to work in other people's lives as well as in my own," says Landis-"in the drunk leaning against the storefront, in the haggard mother as she screams at her child out of her own frustrations, in teenagers attempting to leave the nest, in two people in love strolling arm in arm, in lifelong partners approaching death's door-one to enter, the other to remain behind."
