LONGWOOD, FL-The New Testament claims that Jesus is the only way to God; Jesus Himself made that claim, calling Himself "the Way, the Truth, and the Life." Ahrens says that throughout biblical history, Satan, who had gained power after Adam ate the "forbidden fruit" in the Garden of Eden, attempted to corrupt and eliminate the pure bloodline through which the Messiah would come. Satan's efforts failed at the birth of Jesus, the Messiah, but still he worked to destroy Jesus, the disciples, and the church. "I would like readers to see why God had to count on Jesus to gain back the lost after Adam sold out to Satan," she says. "My prayer is that readers would become aware of why Jesus says, 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father but by me.'" This concept, she adds, can be traced back to Adam's fall in the Garden.
Lynn Ahrens, along with her husband, John, is an associate minister at Shield of Faith Ministries in Saginaw, Michigan. She and John have been married forty-seven years and have four adult children, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. When their children were young, the family performed as the Ahrens Family Singers in churches and at Christian festivals throughout Michigan and Indiana.
