Discover the majestic account of the beginning of it all. Knowing God in His Word - Genesis, A Daily Study on the Word of God explores this subject matter in great detail.
Using a broad-brush technique throughout Knowing God in His Word (July, $15.99, 1-59781-367-2, $25.99, 1-59781-368-0) Andrew Schick edits the first of many writings of renowned "thinker"
G. Milton Smith. This new book covers the Book of Genesis, the creation, the purpose of our lives here on earth, God's desire for a relationship with us, the effect of the fall and subsequent sin on our lives, and the great lengths God has gone to in order to bring us back to Himself. Written in daily studies, the book allows readers to encounter the Bible in a deeply personal way, beckoning them to a newfound love and respect for the Author of all beginnings.
Smith's conviction to explore these biblical truths sprang from his sufferings during World War II. Like other young men, Smith had received his conscription notice to engage in the military campaign, but, true to his personal convictions, he chose not to go to war. Imprisoned and held in solitary confinement for five years, alone with just his Bible, he began his intimate journey through the Word of God.
Editor Schick says, "The writing in these books has had a whole life poured into them, and come from a man who truly had an intimate and holy relationship with God. His passion, his love and his revelation of the glory, majesty and honor for the Lord comes through in these pages. Milton knew in his heart that he was not writing these books for his generation, and not even for his children's generation, but for mine, for his grandchildren's generation in the next century."
Andrew Schick, also a New Zealander, is G. Milton Smith's grandson. He plans to tour the United States this fall (2005) to promote Knowing God in His Word. G. Milton Smith held a master's degree in science, majoring in mathematics and physics. He was the Head of Department of Mathematics at Auckland Grammar, New Zealand's top academic school, and served as a lay preacher in the Brethren Church of New Zealand for many years. A Bible college lecturer, he spoke at conferences throughout the nation and around the world. Smith has produced and published many books, most of which are Bible commentaries and Bible teaching books.
