Pitfalls and Potholes Abound in Our Walk with God
Author gives pointers for avoiding detours on road to heaven

LONGWOOD, FL-There's nothing like a trusty guide map when navigating in new territory. Australian author Paul Krautmann has created just such a guide in The Rich Hiker's Guide to Walking with God (paperback, 978-1-60266-101-1; hardcover, 978-1-60266-102-8), a book that looks at the basic approach we must have on our journey towards the kingdom of God. Answering such questions as where, why, and how we are to walk, it examines the various walking styles we may adopt at different stages of our lives and points out pitfalls to avoid.

This readable, entertaining guide is culled from Krautmann's personal experiences and observations as a church pastor in South America and the Caribbean and his present day work with World Vision in Australia. Having traveled and survived the rocky road from cultish legalism to grace and truth in Jesus Christ, Krautmann has learned much about walking with God, and he hopes readers will give ear to his hard-earned wisdom in their own "race" toward heaven.

"I hope this book will help readers identify their own particular walking style and realize that their walk with God will undergo many changes throughout their lives," says Krautmann. "Just because at times they are not going all out at full speed toward the kingdom does not necessarily mean they are backsliding. There is a time for running and a time for strolling. I also hope readers will see that our walk with God is to be centered first on God, then on others, and lastly on ourselves."

Born in England, Paul Krautmann worked for two years in Guyana at the National Library, then attended Ambassador College. He returned to Guyana and pastored the church there until 1989 when he was transferred to the Caribbean to pastor churches in Grenada, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, and Dominica. In 1999, Paul and his Guyanese wife, Unita, moved to Perth, Western Australia.
