Build a Strong and Steadfast Walk with God Using 36 Principles
Author encourages readers to shine forth the image of Christ

LONGWOOD, FL-Living a godly life isn't easy. Thankfully, God laid out imperatives-36 of them-to help guide us along the way. In Phillip Mehringer's The "Be's" of the Bible: God's Commands, His Imperatives (paperback, 978-1-60477-232-6; hardcover, 978-1-60477-233-3), readers will learn how to apply these principles to their everyday walk so as to shine forth the image of Christ. He believes these commands can form a sturdy frame for the Christian to build a strong and steadfast walk with God, as well as inspire others to do the same.

Since his salvation in 1964, Mehringer has enjoyed studying and sharing the insights God gives to him. Says the author, "Each time I teach on a book or a topic of the Bible, even though I may have taught on it before, God opens new truths to me that are relevant to that specific time and those specific people. I trust that as I have been preparing this book, God knows who will be reading it, and truths contained in it will be particularly relevant to them."

Having spent many years in Bible college, seminary, and pastorates in the United States and abroad, the author found that obeying these commands in our daily walk is universally essential. In working with God's people over the years, he has witnessed the benefits in their Christian growth when these commands have been obeyed, as well as the results when they have been neglected.

Phillip Mehringer has been a pastor for 40 years. He and wife Moureen have been married for 54 years and have four adult children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is now semi-retired and lives in Midland, Texas, where they attend First Baptist Church.
