LONGWOOD, FL-For years, Retrinda Brown struggled to sever chains of bondage that restricted her to an endless cycle of abuse, divorce, single parenting, and bad relationships. Ever since rededicating her life to Christ nine years ago, Brown has been growing in GodÑand she feels her story will compel readers to do the same. God Is Definitely Present in My Life (paperback, 1-60034-499-2) is Brown's detailed account of the struggles she endured and how she sought to cover up hurt after hurt instead of allowing God to heal her.
Says Brown, "When I finally surrendered to the Lord, He opened up the windows of heaven and blessed me. The Lord never gave up on me, and everything I went through was pushing me forth into my destiny."
After serving in the military for about 13 years, Brown dedicated her life to her two priorities-family and ministry. She says that once she surrendered her life to God, she was healed, delivered, and prepared for God's plan. Cleansing our lives is exactly what we must do if we are to do things God's way. "I hope that singles will cut off every relationship that is hindering them from serving God," says Brown. "I pray that people realize there is life after divorce; God can still send a blessing. I also want people to know that God can heal you of every hurt. The past will not stop you from going forth in the things of God."
Retrinda Brown and her husband, Michael, have six children, ages 4 to 18. They are active in their present ministry in Virginia and have been for about seven years.
