Book's Takeaway Bequeaths the Courage to Do All Things
Semi-fictional memoir focuses on the road ahead

LONGWOOD, FL-Cowgirl, nurse, traveler, single mother, abused wife, and victim of a hit-and-run accident that resulted in brain trauma all these titles defined Peg's life over the years. Despite the physical and psychological changes that came about, her biggest challenge was rather one of unfinished business after her injury. When the solution finally came, it was from an unexpected source, in an unexpected way. Sharon John's The Road Home (paperback, 978-1-60266-624-5) is the story of a woman who determines to live life fully not by looking back at the roads already traveled, but by focusing on the road ahead.

"The Lord did not promise an easy road, but He did promise to never leave us or forsake us," says John. "I would hope that in the very worst of times readers will hold to that promise."

Though the book is in part fictional, John lived some of Peg's memoirs and learned firsthand the secret to enjoying a full life. It was through "Christ, who strengthens us" that she found the courage to do all things, and she hopes her readers will find the same strength in the book's takeaway.

Sharon John is in the process of writing the final chapters to yet another book, whose storyline also takes place in Alaska. Oil painting, glass art, and her animals are things which give her great satisfaction.
