LONGWOOD, FLA.-With vivid brush strokes, novelist Susan Grogan paints the horrific picture of what would happen in the aftermath of an American Hiroshima a nuclear holocaust triggered by a joint plot of Islamic terrorists in New York City and a Chinese submarine in the Pacific, just west of Los Angeles. Grogan's supernatural Christian thriller, The Encounter (paperback, 978-1-60266-508-8), is end-times fiction at its best, capturing how current events correlate with biblical prophecy to bring about the ultimate battle between good and evil.
The story, which Grogan calls a "page-turner from the start," warns readers that we are living in the final days before the return of Jesus. "It's entertainment because it is fiction, but I also want readers to be awakened to a deeper understanding of biblical truths," says Grogan. "Why? Because Daniel 11:33 says that those who have understanding among the people will instruct many. My hopes are that readers will come away with biblical understanding."
In the storyline, supernatural rulers of darkness are behind the destructive plan, fulfilling biblical prophecy and ushering in the one-world government of the Antichrist. Meanwhile, Jaron Fuller and Mandy Harris are conducting a Bible prophecy conference in Los Angeles. But a family emergency cuts the seminar short. Unaware of the impending disaster, they don't have pilots to fly the ministry Learjet home to Virginia. Are they doomed to die?
Susan Grogan previously published the novel The Assignment, also by Xulon Press. She lives with her husband, Jeffrey, in northwest Georgia.
