Susan Luka knows all about the road less traveled, and it is her driving passion to see this generation rise up and be revolution makers for Christ. "Our problem? We often don't want to go to God or His Word for guidance," says Luka. "We need to train ourselves to ask Him which path to take. If we don't, then we merely prove to ourselves where our contentment lies. It might lie in money, food, possessions, relationships. Wherever your contentment lies equals the way by which youÕll choose what detour to take. What we so often fail to realize is the goodness of God's path for us."
Detours are hardly a new phenomenon-they've been around ever since Adam and Eve. And, like most detours, it tested their love and commitment toward God. They chose Satan and his scheme over their trust in God. Similarly, many of us today are easily detoured away from Him. Says Luka, "Often detours reveal to us how fixed our gaze is on the world. However, in Christ there is the ability to start choosing His path when detours hit."
Susan Luka has worked alongside her husband for seven years in youth ministry writing camp curriculums for their youth group and being involved in the lives of their teenagers. They live in Louisville, Kentucky, and attend Forest Park Community Church.
