LONGWOOD, FL-When dealing with cancer, chemotherapy isn't enough to combat the debilitating effects of the disease. That's why author and cancer survivor Susan Wells has devised a battle plan to defeat cancer that includes a healthy dose of spiritual intervention. Spiritual Boot Camp: For the Brave Cancer Soldier ($13.99, paperback, 978-1-60266-204-9) applies biblical truth to strengthen and heal the "inner man" (spirit and soul) with hope for a greater chance of healing the "outer man" (physical body). Wells has taken the knowledge she received from God while in treatment and turned it into a basic training camp. This training manual instructs soldiers to seek healing by getting their minds off the physical and onto the spiritual. Every soldier needs to learn that God is at "central base" regarding health and healing.
"Cancer is not just a physical disease," says Wells. "Therefore, we must utilize other weapons, and our most powerful ones are spiritual ones. I desire to bring greater awareness to the fact that the Lord cannot be ignored while trying to cure this dreadful disease."
Since 1998, the course of Wells' life has been redirected. Her decisions, dreams, and desires all centered on the belief that God's mission work with cancer would become her life's calling. She now counts all her tribulations as joys and believes they have served eternal purposes in her life. She believes God trained her to help train others during their cancer battles. "The more enlightened I've become, the stronger my beliefs are that unless spirituality is included in healing cancer, the enemy will continue to defeat us," says Wells.
Susan Wells resides in Ohio with her husband, Don, and daughter, Dana. She founded SOS Ministries in 2005.
