Author Uses Book to Assist in Rites of Passage
Kitty Arceneaux has been lending a helping hand lately to her church's youth. The veteran author of What's My Life All About? has included her workbook as part of the Rites of Passage program for the youth at Church of Faith in Slidell, Louisiana. The program, sponsored by YES! (Youths Entering in the Spirit), lasts for nine weeks and includes such topics as self-esteem, living for Christ, relationships, influences, love, sexuality, and bondage breaking. Arceneaux's book was written as a tool toward gaining the knowledge and understanding of God's Word and stemmed from her frustration at the fact that most people wait until they are older to discover who they are and who they are in God. |

Book Lands on Magazine Stands
Lately, author Angela R. Curtis has nothing to mourn about. Her book, From Mourning to Morning: Putting on the Garment of Praise, is featured in a special double issue of JET magazine, an international publication by Johnson Publishing Company, Inc. After a copy of Curtis's press release fell into the hands of JET's associate editor, Marti Parham, Parham promised the budding author that "If there was an article I would be able to comment on, she would let me know," recounts Curtis. Parham interviewed Curtis for an article titled "Coping With Grief During the Holiday Season." The article features world-renowned stars such as Patti LaBelle, Hill Harper, and Vanessa Williams. Included is clinical advice on how to cope from psychologist Dr. Randolph Potts as well as Curtis's personal testimony. |
