Up-and-Coming Author Receives Her Due with Slew of Publicity Stints
Recently, listeners in Albuquerque, New Mexico, tuned into their local Christian radio station, KNKT 107.1 (www.knkt.com) for a chat with Xulon author Darlene Cozart. The author, who was interviewed about her book, Holiday Treasure Stories, by Peter Benson on two separate occasions, notes that KNKT 107.1 broadcasts to more than a million listeners every week. The result? Word has been spreading like wildfire about the up-and-coming author, whose book-and career-is red-hot. The Albuquerque Journal did a whole top-page write up on the in-demand author's Holiday Treasure Stories; meanwhile, the local Barnes & Noble invited her to participate in their Easter book signing, saying they would provide all the books and all she needed to do was sign them. The signing, which is planned for March 22 at 2 p.m., will be attended by Joy Junction, KNKT, and The Albuquerque Journal, who plans to have a reporter on hand to snap pictures of the event. This upcoming event is eclipsed in excitement only by Cozart's recent number one spot on Barnes & Noble's online website. "To me that's very exciting and makes it very easy to help with promotions," she says. "I could get really used to being on that number one spot for a very long time! It has a very nice feeling to it!"
Cozart has also vowed to donate ten percent of every book sold to a worthy cause: Joy Junction, New Mexico's largest emergency homeless shelter. The organization houses close to 400 a night, helps feed families that have lost everything, and aids them in getting their feet back on solid ground again.
"I feel so blessed and excited," the author says. "I feel that not only am I being blessed, but that by helping with Joy Junction, we can and will make a difference in so many peopleÕs lives."
