Author's Book Casts Spell on Reviewers in Midwest
A recent interview from Midwest Book Reviewer (posted on Amazon.com) put L. Ellen Gardner's The Seraphim Diaries: The Light and the Lamb at the top of the heap. The book, which scored a total of five out of five stars, was heralded as "an engaging fantasy adventure for all ages with strong Christian themes." The young adult novel centers on a young seraph angel named Quon, who leaves the security of the heavenly realms to learn more about the human world. After befriending two runaway orphan children, Quon becomes involved in a transcendent battle between good and evil. |

Author Draws Ink in Front-Page Article About Do-It-Yourself Publishing
When readers of the Lakeland Ledger turned to the front page of the Life section, they were greeted by a full-page article on do-it-yourself publishing, featuring Gregory K. Morris's In Pursuit of Leadership. The article, titled "Writer, Publish Thyself," by Gary White, investigated publishing percentages and examined the different ways in which local authors opt to get published. Morris, displayed proudly holding a copy of his book on the front page, said, "For me, this met a need... Certainly the greatest challenge for any unknown author is getting published. I'm confident everyone out there thinks they're the next John Grisham or the next Max Lucado. There may be some out there, but a traditional publisher may never recognize that." |

The one-hour daily talk show, which operates out of Richmond, Virginia, offered the perfect platform for the author to discuss on-air major topics covered by his book, D-Day for America, and other related issues. Xulon author and spiritual columnist Wendy Lynn Decker took time to chit-chat with several reviewers and radio hosts while out stumping for her new book, The Bedazzling Bowl. She was featured in The Bookshelf Review, AuthorÕs Choice Reviews, and an online interview with illustrator Kevin Scott Collier as part of the ÒAuthor ChatÓ portion of his website. During the interview, Decker dropped hints of where her ambitions were next directed: ÒWomen of Faith is publishing an anthology entitled Leap of Faith this coming winter. Veteran's Memoirs Well Received in Hometown
"Have You Met Jack Ray Griffin?" was the headline that greeted early risers in Zapata, Texas, one recent morning. Jack Ray Griffin, co-author of My New Life (along with his son, Robert Silas Griffin), was featured in a quarter-page spread in the Zapata County News. Days before, Griffin donated a free copy of the book to the public library and began drumming up support for his touching memoir. |
