Xulon Author's Title Picked Up by New York Agent
The Fading of the Scars author Orrin Michael Carpenter recently signed a contract for agent representation. "Time will tell what the end result will ultimately be, but someone in New York City liked my writing enough to represent me," says Carpenter. "I was told they incubate talent, and they wanted me to make the novel as perfect as possible before attempting to find a buyer for it." Heeding those sound words of wisdom, Carpenter proceeded to undergo three critiques and ten copyedits, making somewhere in the realm of 3,000-4,000 changes to the manuscript since Xulon first put it into print. While shopping around for a traditional publisher, Carpenter maintains that "Xulon Press [is] a stepping stone in that attainment." |
