Seitzinger's Book Generates Positive Reader Response
Xulon author Dorothy Hsu Seitzinger discovered that the time and effort it took to write A Praying Grandparent was all worthwhile when she started receiving notes in the mail as well as positive personal responses to her book. Says Seitzinger, "One woman told me she keeps a copy by her bedside to read before going to bed. The positive feedback from readers has been encouraging." The book, which encourages both new and seasoned grandparents to seek a new intensity in their prayers, delivered on all that it vowed to do: "bring smiles and a few tears."
The tenacious author also enjoyed success at a recent book signing that took place during two Grandparents' Day events at her local Christian school. Reports Seitzinger, "I was able to sell about 80 copies. I also spoke at a seniors' group on the topic of grand-parenting and sold 11 more copies. I am in the process of setting up more speaking engagements. My book has also done well at my church's bookstore." |

Author Gains Exposure Through Platform of Radio as Well as Book Signings
Wilvena McDowell must be something of a household name in North Carolina. The Xulon author of Attributes of the Self has had her book promoted on 103.9 FM "The Light Radio Station" to more than 120,000 listeners in the Raleigh/Durham area, and on their corresponding online community announcements every Thursday. The Barnes & Noble at Southpointe Mall hosted a recent book signing for McDowell and mailed out their own promotion for the event. |

City on a Hill Takes Flight with Publicity
Once upon a time, Xulon author Diana Crews wrote a little book called City on a Hill Prayer Journal, designed for families and individuals who want to reclaim and record their godly heritage. That little book has since spread its wings and taken flight with a series of interviews and book signings in Crews' native Alabama. The busy author took time out from her schedule to pop into Dove's Christian Supply and also chat up Ann Varnum of WTVY Dothan. Additionally, the author found herself spotlighted in the Sunday edition of the Dothan Eagle Newspaper. Not bad for a book with humble beginnings-as the brainchild of 25 years of observation in the Department of Human Resources and a solution to the overly rampant "ills of society." |

Author "Excited and Having Fun" with Publicity Leg of Authorship
At gatherings in her local Lumberton, North Carolina, Sarah Goebel, author of Satisfied Woman, scored book sales as well as something more valuable-the opportunity to meet, greet, and minister to her core audience. The book signings-held at a Family Christian Stores outlet and a local Christian bookstore-were very successful. Reports Goebel, "Seventeen books were sold, and I had the opportunity to minister to several persons. I have had three radio interviews to date and currently have four more scheduled." Included among those interviews was a 15-minute chat with Moody Broadcasting Radio, which airs more than 374 stations coast to coast. "I am excited and having fun with the radio interviews and hope they will result in book sales. So get ready, Xulon, to take orders and print those books! What a blessing to have a 24-hour order line available for order taking." |

Stellar Reviews, PR Write-up, and Awards for Xulon Author
Whatever Xulon author Robert Hammond has been doing to promote his book, it's working. The tenacious author of Grace Period: The Awakening of Abel Adams used his pen to detail a story of one man's deliverance from a labyrinth of crime, cults, and incarceration, and to witness the triumph of truth over falsehood and rejoice in the discovery of love through the power of faith. One thing Hammond certainly is enjoying right now, aside from the power of faith, is the fruits of his labor. A slew of interviews, book signings, and critical praise were eclipsed only by a recent nod from the Indie Excellence Book Awards 2007, which placed his book as a finalist in both their "religious fiction" and "African-American fiction" categories.
Now that Hammond's demand as a writer is red-hot, several stations have been eager to book him on their show. "The Big Finale" program, hosted by Bruce Collins, sat down recently with Hammond for a chat about Abel Adams, and Collins has promised a review of his novel to AmericanChronicle.com, WorldSentinel.com, and raidersnewsnetwork.com. The interview is located at www.radiohaven.net.
Additionally, Hammond's book landed him a stellar press release and critical acclaim from Debra Gaynor of ReaderViews. The website's Tyler R. Tichelaar also sat down for an interview with Hammond to discuss Abel Adams, the Bible's influence in Western literature, reader responses, and upcoming projects. Throughout the course of the chat, Hammond revealed his plans for a Grace Period screenplay and another screenplay he is working on titled Black's Law. The full interview can be accessed at http://www.readerviews.com/InterviewHammond.html.
A currently featured book on ReaderViews.com, the book has received excellent reviews and article coverage as well as the release of a multimedia PreView (see www.readerviews.com for more information). |
