Author's Book Ordered by Two of Her Local Bookstores
Having recently published her book, Through It All, He Was There, Xulon Press author Sharon Libby reports she has received a lot of positive response from readers thus far. After receiving her first book order on Monday, October 26, she went to seven local bookstores in her hometown the following day to introduce herself and show them her book. She took with her some marketing materials-flyers with all the pertinent ordering details-and left.
"Two stores ordered books right then and there, which made me feel good," the author says. "I can say marketing is a challenge. I also emailed all my friends and am waiting to receive my postcards. I have a list of [more than] 200 churches that I want to send postcards to."
Additionally, the author had a brainstorm to email all the post-polio networks all over the world. Thus far, she has received responses from England, the Netherlands, South Africa, and Florida—and that was only a few days ago. "My book is in God's hands," she explains. "I trust Him to help me in this endeavor. Thank you to Xulon for all your help." |

Author Moves Copies of Book Using Direct Marketing
Last year, author Dick Robinson's book, More Than We Can Imagine: A Practical Guide to the Holy Spirit, was released to the public amid positive reviews. Ever since then, says the author, one local Christian bookstore has stocked three copies of his book and several of people in his network have bought books. Additionally, "I took books to a two-day church meeting in April of 2008 and sold 12 to 15 books," the author recounts. "I [also] took books to a weekend meeting two weeks ago and sold eight books." It is his hope that the publishing of this book will bring a blessing to the body of Christ-and it appears as though that goal has been accomplished thus far!
