Slew of Recent Appearances Bring Publicity to Author's New Book
In Never a Dull Moment: Taking Light into the Darkness, author Glenn Adkins recounts his dramatic efforts, driven by Christ's love, in reaching out to lost humanity through the power of witnessing. And now he's taking his message to a whole new level. A slew of recent appearances—which included an interview on radio.net conducted by KSJL's Tim Berends, as well as two book signing events at the Book & Bean Bookstore in Big Bear Lake, California&mdash'have brought more publicity to the book's release. Additionally, two articles appeared in the local Big Bear Grizzly newspaper to announce his book's release.

Author Welcomes High Turnout at Three Separate Book Signings
Whispers in the Wind author Shirley Watts Bing has had a plethora of book signing engagements lined up ever since the release of her new book, which is a suspense-filled novel that offers truth, wisdom, comfort, humor, and guidance to readers. The first signing, held at a local Christian bookstore called Gospel World, was advertised via an announcement placed in a local newspaper. The second and third signings utilized direct mail marketing—specifically, postcards—and announcements in a church bulletin to publicize the event. All three events had a high turnout, and there are plans for more in the future.

Author Holds Book Signing at Local Bank in Denver
Mikelle A. Bryant-Mataya, author of I See Something Blue: Funny Girl and Grandma Fagg, recently held an all-day book signing at the TCF Bank in Denver, Colorado. The event was well-attended and the author sold many copies of her new Xulon Press book, which deals with the topic of waiting on the Lord and how faith is developed through difficult experiences. She is planning another book signing already at the Bellco Credit Union in Aurora, where she will meet and greet fans and readers during the event.

Doors Opening for Author to Conduct Workshops on Her Book in New York
Ever since releasing her Xulon Press book nearly a year ago, Pura M. De Jesus-Coniglio has had a great many opportunities to promote it. The Bronx: Exposing Its True DNA & Breaking the Stigma has been showcased at several book signings, most notably a very successful one at the Barnes & Noble in Co-op City, New York. In addition, from March through May she did workshops on Bronx history at two local high schools-material which she derived from the content of the book. "Furthermore, I have received a vendor number from the New York State Education Department," she says. "This gives me the opportunity to sell the book to the public schools throughout New York. And there are other doors opening to do the Bronx history talk in the New York public libraries and colleges/universities." Xulon wishes the best of luck to her as she continues to promote her book!

Author Moves Hundreds of Copies of His Book at Four Different Signings
Ever since his book, Overcoming Pain—which teaches readers how to walk joyfully in the overcoming lifestyle—was released, Xulon Press author Rev. Dr. Norman E. Fields has had four book signings and sold a combined total of 235 books. Two pastors, one in Texas and another in Delaware, are looking to use the book as a textbook for their Bible studies. Additionally, says the author, "My book has been featured in two of our state newspapers and will be in the next annual magazines of the universities I graduated from: Delaware State and Wilmington University. Wilmington is also placing a copy of my book in their school's author center. The future is bright as I await responses from TBN and Oprah. My next book should be complete by the end of this summer. Author's Book Still Going Strong Three Years After Publication
It has been more than three years since author Deborah K. FinleyÕs book, What Your Future Holds and What You Can Do to Change It, was released, and it's still going strong. The author was a guest recently on The Harvest Show, and her book recently made the top 100 list on Amazon.com's Best-Sellers. Also, The 700 Club did a film reenactment from her book that aired more than a year ago and was televised worldwide. Since then, she has started a radio show titled WYFH—"What Your Future Holds"—on Blog Talk Radio, where she discusses with listeners the topics that her book covers, such as the power of letting go and the power of laughter, as well as how to be empowered, resulting in living in a higher realm of life.
"As a result of the radio show, I was invited to be interviewed on other radio shows," the author says. "All things are possible to those who believe, no matter what your circumstances are now or have been. It's been an interesting and exciting experience to see how God has opened so many different kinds of doors to speak as a result of the book being published through Xulon Press. I was invited to do book signings at six chain retail stores at various locations in Illinois, as well as being invited to universities, colleges, libraries, churches, seven different Curves locations, and more."

Author Lines up Several Speaking Engagements to Tell His Incredible True Story
In Out of the Depths: A Survivor's Story of the Sinking of the USS Indianapolis, author David Harrell tells a terrifying firsthand account of the sinking of the USS and the Navy cover-up that led to the bizarre court martial and eventual exoneration of its captain. Thus far, his story has been commanding attention from a variety of different places—the author has several speaking engagements lined up in the coming months during which he will be telling his story and selling books.
On September 13-14, he will be speaking at the Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, Virginia; on September 19 he will appear at the Methodist Church in Madisonville, Kentucky; on September 23 he will speak at the Sunday afternoon main event for the opening of the Traveling Viet Nam Wall in Madisonville, Kentucky; on October 24 and 25 he will be speaking at two churches and Empire State Community College in Big Stone Gap, Virginia; on November 5 he will appear at the Rotary Club in Brentwood, Tennessee, at noon; on November 8 he will speak at The King's Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida; on November 11 he will appear at Perimeter Christian School in Deluth, Georgia; on November 14 he will appear on First Baptist ChurchÕs broadcast for CBS local TV in Spartanburg, South Carolina; on November 18 he will appear at the First Baptist Church prayer breakfast, which will be held for some 300 elected city officials in Clarksville, Tennessee; and on November 21 he will appear at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. Author Sits Down for Interview with TheOneRing.Net Radio Show
In The Legend of Justice and Diamonds, author Louis F. Hemsey weaves a fantastical tale about the Lady Justice and the Jack of Diamonds, one a moral virtue born from the Forest of Cards, and the other an infamous outlaw thought to have been murdered as an infant. Recently, the author's epic novel was featured on a website devoted to the works of perhaps the most famous fantasy writer, J.R.R. Tolkien. Hemsey sat down with TheOneRing.net radio show (broadcasted via BlogTalkRadio) in March to talk about his book and take call-in questions from listeners. In addition, the author received more exposure at a Borders book signing in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, earlier this year. According to the author, he met some great people at the event and left some signed copies at the store.

Author Holds Book Signing and Art Exhibit at Hometown Church
In Yes, Women Do Preach! author Bertha Barrett Jackson shares her personal testimony and journey into her life as a woman minister in a world that was predominantly male-populated at the time of her calling. Ever since sharing her struggles with authors, she has received an outpouring of support from all different people. In March, her hometown newspaper—The Goochland Gazette—published an article titled "A Story of a WomanÕs Struggle to Preach," which was written about her and her book. A month later, the newspaper interviewed the author in another featured article. Additionally, the author had a book signing and art exhibit at Faith Baptist Church in Louisa, Virginia, last April. The well-attended event, which was held during a womenÕs day ministry program, was organized by the churchÕs minister. "The minister at the church has a testimony in my book and she is giving me the opportunityÑplus she is personally promoting my book," the author says.

Martyred Author Remembered in Riveting New Women & Spirit Exhibit
While serving on the diocesan Cleveland Latin American Mission Team in El Salvador, Dorothy Chapon Kazel was martyred along with three other Catholic Missionaries. The stunning account of her life—beginning with her novitiate days—and death is told in the Xulon Press book, The Voice: A Missionary's Call to Give Her Life. Just recently, Kazel was featured in the Women & Spirit: Catholic Sisters in America exhibit that opened in Cleveland, Ohio. The exhibit, which is dedicated to chronicling the brave and innovative women who played a significant role in shaping this nation, celebrated Kazel's achievements and her martyrdo—an event that catapulted U.S. foreign policy with El Salvador into the national limelight.

Author Plants Seeds as Part of Promotion for Her New Book
Within the pages of author Janet Powell McKee's Xulon Press book, Counseling Letters to God: A Psychological Paraphrase to Psalms, the author has written a personal study on identity and the way in which God sees us. Already, the book is beginning to create buzz in McKee's own community. "An acquaintance of mine in Staples Office Supply was having a bad day; I gave her my book. She told a woman about the book; the woman, Jan, is in the Manteca Junior Women's Club. Jan called me and asked if they could review the book; I gave them [an interview]. She called me last Tuesday and they are now going to sponsor a book signing in our public library in Manteca, California. Planting seeds is a big part of promotion."

Xulon Author's Book Met with Universal Praise upon Launch
Within the pages of his Xulon Press book, Sellout: Musings from Uncle Tom's Porch, black conservative writer and commentator Ron Miller delivers a candid and compelling personal account on race in America. Almost as soon as it was launched, it was met with universal praise. Smitty, of the conservative blog The Other McCain, taped the book party at the Army and Navy Club this past August and was very complimentary of the book, even going so far as to conduct video blogs of the event itself. Also in attendance was Ron Kessler, a New York Times bestselling author and senior Washington correspondent for Newsmax, and he wrote an article about the book and the author's views on current events related to the topic. In addition, Miller's editor and contributor, Anita Crane, went from dispassionate reader to fan during the course of her work with him on the book, and s he offers her insight in her blog.

Freelance Book Reviewer Endorses Xulon Author's Book
Recently, a church in England purchased 90 copies of John Murray's If We Only KnewÉRemarkable True Stories of God's Intervention for leaders of their home study groups. The three pastors of the church preached each Sunday on the chapter subjects with the congregation following up on the same subject during their weekly study. Also, an independent website—www.wisereader.com—which exists for the encouragement of "wise reading and reflection," recently endorsed the book. Xulon Author Lined up to Present to the Christian Education Association
It has been a year since author Patricia Rowe released her heartfelt Xulon Press book, The Other Side of the Desk: A Teacher Remembers, and she has been working tirelessly to promote it through word of mouth, business cards, and several speaking engagements with parent groups and at the Christian school where she taught. Thus far, her hard work has paid off in the form of several positive reader reviews. Also, one of the pastors who came to preach at her church—who was himself the dean of a Christian school—put her in touch with the director of the state Christian Education Association. "I sent him a book and he wants me to present on three topics in September," she says. Additionally, she attended the Black Diamond Writers' Conference several months ago, and the organization has submitted her name to attend the Republican Herald Book Fair in November as well as to be a presenter for a Women's Connection meeting in November. "They referred me to Stonecroft Ministries to qualify as a speaker when I complete their workbook," she explains. "So things are happening."

Author Promotes Book About Founding Fathers in Williamsburg and Annapolis
In 1776 Faith: The Christian Worldview of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, Xulon Press author Phil Webster incites readers to take the Founders' Challenge and see whether the Founding Fathers of this nation were deists, atheists, or had a Christian worldview. Author Invited to Three Different Book Signings by Local Store
Ever since publishing his Xulon Press book, Faith Will Keep You Afloat, author Curtis E. Nester began promoting it by giving copies to local newspapers. Several of those newspapers then invited the author to have his picture taken with the book and published information about his book. Additionally, he visited several local shops and offered to leave several copies on consignment. Some agreed, while others bought several copies outright to place in their store. "One store has invited me, along with several other local authors, to three different book signings." But Nester didn't stop there—he continued by donating copies to local libraries, and he event scheduled a book signing at both his church and a high school reunion.
