TV Host Interviews Author About Her Journey from Rape to Restoration
Vicki Duffy recently sat down with The 700 Club's Kristi Watts for a candid TV interview about her book, No More Pain. The nearly 12-minute feature touched on everything from preadolescent rape to verbal abuse to depression, anorexia, bulimia, self-mutilation, and drug and alcohol addiction. Duffy delivered her heart-wrenching story with poise and aplomb, as she vividly recalled the moment she gave God an ultimatum: "I said to God, 'I'm going to give You 30 days to prove Yourself real,'" she told Watts. "I gave Him 30 days and proceeded to really plead with Him. I didn't know how to pray. I was swearing. I was yelling. But I was having a conversation, and I believe God met me where I was at." The feature ended in accordance with the powerful message of Duffy's book: "There's hope. As long as there's breath in [your] life, there's hope. It doesn't matter whether you believe in God; He believes in you. And He can make it work. Let's give God a chance."

Author Fields Questions on Local Radio Station
After setting up an interview with 100.9 FM Rejoice, the number one ranked soul station serving Virginia Beach, Virginia, and the Outer Banks, North Carolina, Xulon author Lawrence Pencook sat down for a one-on-one chat with the station's general manager, Mike Chandler. Also present in the studio was Ben Kinslow, formerly of The 700 Club. Among the topics of discussion were Pencook's book, Christ's Beatitudes, as well as the author himself. Says Pencook, "I was able to introduce my book, and both Ben Kinslow and I fielded questions from callers. It was a great time, and I gave away one of my books over the air." |
