Katrina Survivor/Author Tapped for Radio Interview
Two weeks after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans author Al Cole was a guest on KNEO Radio 91.7 FM's "Author's Corner" program, talking about his new book, The Shadow Christian: A Parable About Men, God, and Sexual Temptation. KNEO serves the Joplin, Missouri, area and reaches an audience of more than 300,000 listeners. "We were preparing to begin promoting the book the week the storm hit," says the author, who is continuing to line up additional interviews. "Even though our future is uncertain right now, my wife and I strongly believe in the message of this book, which is that God can restore a marriage shattered by sexual addiction."
The Shadow Christian, a simple story of recovery and spiritual growth, has already garnered some high-profile endorsements, including statements from Stephen Arterburn, founder of New Life Ministries, and Joe Dallas, founder of Genesis Counseling and creator of Pure Online workshops. A portion of the proceeds from the book will go toward helping men who want to break free from the bondage of sexual sin. |

Radio Expands Interview for Author of Wake Up and Smell the Truth
An interview on Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson's national radio show expanded from a scheduled 30 minutes to one hour for David M. Berman, author of Wake Up and Smell the Truth: A look at our nation's founding principles and the failure of liberalism. Writes Berman, "During the interview, it was clear that I had hit a nerve with my book. He was very complimentary and said many times throughout the interview that 'everyone should read Rev. Berman's book Wake Up and Smell the Truth...[in it the author makes] arguments that any Christian or non Christian can understand.' It was a great interview."
In addition to another one-hour interview on "VIEWPOINT," a national radio show hosted by Chuck Crismier, Rev. Berman did an interview on WKBS in Big Springs, Texas. Once again, an interview that was scheduled for 30 minutes stretched into an hour and 45 minutes. "The phones were lit up, and the host was impressed with the discussion, and response of the listeners," reports the author.
Wake Up and Smell the Truth takes a hard-hitting look at our nationŐs fall into a liberal, relativist worldview and presents logical arguments as to why liberalism and relativism are illogical. |

Book Finds Own Publicity Momentum
When author Deborah B. Turner received her first shipment of books, she sent several to well-known ministries. So far she has received requests from two of the ministries requesting a videotape of her sharing her testimony before an audience. One of those was Focus on the Family. Meanwhile, her book Trees Wear Glasses, Don't They? has been selling so well at a Nashville bookstore that she's been invited to attend CBA Advance in January as a guest of the bookstore-and do a book-signing while she's in town.
An executive with the SC Southern Baptist Association wrote to Turner telling how her book inspired an airplane conversation that resulted in the fellow passenger leaving with her book in hand. Writes Turner, "All of this is happening with me doing very little to promote the book myself. I have had one book signing where we sold 30 books in two hours, and many others who had already purchased the book brought theirs in for signing. Also, I have shared my testimony several times and have four other churches on the calendar in the next couple of months." Kudos to you, Deborah! |
